ZURICH CHINATOWN

From Hong Kong with Love

Last week I meet with Bonnie Cheng and interviewed her about her business in Hong Kong. She was in Zurich to promote her sister’s business, Kam Ma Leather Garments Workshop, a tailor-made and leather garments workshop/factory in Hong Kong. Linda and her husband Raymand have founded the factory and have been in business for over 40 years. While Raymand is in charge of paper patterns, cutting, and finishing, Linda is responsible for sewing. Together, they produce leather garments for their customers, who come from all over the world. Since neither her sister nor her husband speak English, Bonnie is fronting the Kam Ma Leather Garments Workshop in addition to running her own business.

If you want your own unique leather jacket, blazer, vest, coat, skirt, dress or pants, you can go to their website www.kam-ma-leathergarments.com.hk and take your own measurements based on the instructions provided. These measurements you can then send to Bonnie and her sister who will create a fabric mockup based on these measurements. They will send that to you for you to try on and make changes if desired and needed. Once you are satisfied, they will create the actual garment. You can choose from a variety of leathers and linings to really get your custom garment – based on your own specifications and design. And the best part – you can even have your name embroidered on the inside, just to ultimately customize it. And it doesn’t stop there – they can even make some bags too. To view images of what they have created in the past, go to their Facebook site https://fb.me/kam.ma.leathergarments or follow them on Instagram under @kam.ma.leathergarments.

For sure, you already know what I am doing next… I am off to getting myself measured for my very own leather garnment.

More recently I have discovered China and fell in love with its culture, people, food, and fashion. In my quest to find good Chinese food in Zurich I found Zurich Chinatown and its many restaurant recommendations. I am interested in an exchange in all things Chinese. Let me share with you my travel adventures and Chinese experiences.
