China’s role in the world is becoming increasingly more dominant and will influence our future. But who is China’s future?
British author and journalist Alec Ash has moved to Beijing almost a decade ago. His latest book, a literary nonfiction called Wish Lanterns, follows the lives of six of young Chinese millennials born from 1985 to 1990 as they grow up in a rapidly changing country and start their careers. It paints a rich picture of contemporary China, its future challenges, and manages to convey a lot of insights on Chinese politics and its fast-changing society.
